Good For Her is looking for a Mail Order Clerk to join our fun, collaborative and socially progressive sex shop. Candidates must be customer service oriented, reliable, computer literate and experienced in sexual health education/activism.

Candidates must also be self-motivated, organized,  committed to anti-oppression and feminist principles and willing to work a fixed schedule. Must be available for:

Monday – Friday 11am – 7pm

Mail Order Position Summary

Mail Order

  • Stays up-to-date and follows up on customer correspondence online and by phone
  • Takes phone orders and manages orders taken by other GFH staff
  • Prioritizes orders and manages time effectively to meet shipping deadlines
  • Notices suspicious orders for fraud and follow-up
  • Prints orders, gathers product , processes and packages orders
  • Prints labels and creates manifest for Canada Post
  • Prepares packages shipped by other methods such as A-Way and FedEx
  • Notifies customers of shipped orders and/or status
  • Follows up with customers and necessary GFH staff on out of stock items
  • Updates website with products in and out of stock and other changes
  • Builds and maintains fluency with website, i.e. creating product pages, processing orders online, communicating with web support
  • Receives, packages, processes and ships wholesale orders
  • Completes shipping procedure on online Woo-Commerce program
  • Builds and maintains fluency with shipping programs and e-commerce agent, i.e. Ordoro, EST, Moneris
  • Files completed and in-process orders in appropriate folders
  • Keeps mailorder desk and area tidy and assists with workshop space preparation
  • Orders supplies for mailorder and GFH in general
  • Adds customer emails to GFH newsletter when requested
  • Uses POS software comfortably to balance totals, add customer details, process returns, and deal with discrepancies
  • Addresses products and online customers when defective  products are returned
  • Self-initiates to re-vamp forms and procedures when necessary


Customer Service Floor Support:

  • Provides service to customers that is warm, friendly, respectful, professional, sensitive, informative and relevant
  • Sells products according to the needs of customers
  • Incorporates an anti-oppression perspective into day-to-day work. Has awareness and knowledge about issues and experiences of racism, sexual abuse, violence, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, and other forms of oppression
  • Develops and maintains a comprehensive knowledge of products.
  • Has knowledge of resources and events and makes customer referrals
  • Initiates and takes special orders and notifies Floor Manager of low stock and/or follow up with out of stock orders accurately
  • Maintains tidiness and cleanliness of the store
  • Completes all necessary daily tasks as set out in daily task sheet
  • Takes messages and forwards information to the appropriate person(s)
  • Promptly and accurately receives and fills phone orders for products and workshops
  • Answers the telephone and responds to e-mails in a professional manner
  • Reconciles daily sales including cash, Visa, MasterCard, Interac and cheques with the daily totals. Ensures that sales totals balance
  • Implements anti-fraud procedures at cash
  • Other duties as assigned weekly or irregularly
  • Gives feedback to the team on products tested on behalf of GFH

Receives Delivered Product:

  • Takes special orders when a customer is seeking a specific product.
  • Ensures that special order information is passed on to person taking care of ordering.
  • Promptly notifies customers when their products on order are received
