Breaking - Good For Her staff (and former staff) are brilliant

Filed under: Good for Her News — Tags: — Alison Lee @ 4:32 pm

Good For Her has a wickedly smart crew, with skills and talents in unbelievable areasSpread Magazine. This extends to awesome people who used to work here. Former Good For Her Manager Chanelle Gallant has written a fantastic article:”Why Hiring a Sex Worker is Like Sunning on the Beach: A Defence of Sex Tourism in Thailand” in Spread Magazine about sex workers in developing countries and “sex tourism”. It’s a must read! Congrats, Chanelle, and thanks for writing such awesome things that make people (and me) think about all this stuff in new ways!

P.S.: Check out Mandy Goodhandy and Todd Klinck (Toronto heros/owners of Goodhandy’s) on the cover!

Trouble in Naughtyville

Filed under: random goodness — Tags: — Alison Lee @ 6:07 pm

Between the pet food scandals and the tainted milk, it wasn’t long until lax Chinese laws made the news for sex products. What might be the most surprising is that it wasn’t for some stinky, chemical laden toy. No, this time the recall was for body products, known as “Willy Spread” to Brits, to be exact. Finger painting on your lover and licking it off has never been so dangerous.

I’d be remiss if I didn’t offer an alternative: The Shunga Chocolate Body Paints that Good For Her carries are made in Canada (and completely, totally delicious, and the packaging is guaranteed to not use the word “Willy”)

Test Drive - The Mardi Gras Rabbit

Filed under: Good for Her News, Test Drive — Tags: , , , — Alison Lee @ 5:07 pm

Welcome back to Test Drive, where the staff of Good For Her and the occasional lucky research assistant take some of our favorite products out for a spin, and report back in exhausting detail everything you could ever possibly want to know about these goodies! So, let’s check out the Mardi Gras Rabbit, shall we?

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, or you’re not a Sex and the City expert, you’ve heard about the almighty rabbit vibrators. Often imitated and appearing in many permutations, these vibes have a shaft for penetration that usually features some kind of rotating ball apparatus, and a litMardi Gras Rabbittle branch at the bottom with a second vibrating piece that works delightfully for clitoral stimulation. The Mardi Gras Rabbit cuts to the chase though, and offers just the bunny part of the equation - the part that most women end up raving loudest about - designed to send you into orbit with the high-speed fluttering of little rabbit ears.

I’ll admit that I didn’t know quite what to expect out of this toy. It doesn’t have all the bells and whistles of a full-on Rabbit Pearl, and the bunny ears can be cute or overly cutesy depending on your personal outlook. But from everything I’ve been told, the Mardi Gras Rabbit, mimics sensations close to oral pleasure, and the ears flit and fly over the clit providing immense sensation and a hell of a lot more speed, power and precision than any tongue can give.

As soon as I get ready for this innocuous looking vibe, I’m already pleased with the straight forwardness of this pretty little bunny - 2 AA batteries, four speeds and a soft jelly cover that smells oddly like one of those Strawberry Shortcake dolls of my youth. The toy is reasonably quiet, and I’m assured I won’t have to come up with any strange stories to explain the buzzing in my apartment, and I don’t have to blast the radio, either.

And… I’m pleasantly surprised! For such a basic toy, it still gives you a lot of room to play with - slipping the bunny ears around my clit gave a high-frequency buzz that surprised me with the intensely lovely sensations. The little nose on this cutie works fantastically for more direct and less tickly sensations, or go for broader coverage with the back of the toy to disperse some of the sensation. Though I expected a quick turn with this toy before writing this review, I found myself returning for seconds and thirds in a very short amount of time, and I wasn’teven pretending this was for research any more.

Now, this isn’t the highest quality toy on the market - the materials aren’t stellar and those with latex sensitivities aren’t going to want to chance the risk of a reaction. And it’s not going to last you a lifetime, but for vibrator novices or those scared away by the giant rotating shafts of traditional rabbit vibes can give this a try without having to commit to the somewhat pricey versions. Fans of cunnilingus (uh, pretty much every woman out there) will find this is a nice way to do it yourself without resorting to intense acts of contortion. The Mardi Gras Rabbit, really is a party in a small, sweet package for a tiny amount of cash.
