One person’s art is another person’s porn, and one person’s porn is another person’s art. ArtCore will look at art influenced porn and porn influenced art with video screenings and performances that laugh in the face of boundaries between the erotic and the artistic.
Featuring clips from both new directors and new work from Feminist Porn Award winning directors, this evening promises you’ll never look at fruit, hot dogs, Barbie dolls or fully clothed men in quite the same way again.
Art House Sluts- follows the rise and sexual downfall of artsy slut Maddie Superstar, with an impressive performance art scene starring Jiz Lee and Syd Blakovich along the way. Directed by Madison Young, winner of Feminist Porn Awards for Hottest Kink Film 2008 Bondage Boob Tube and 2009 for Perversions of Lesbian Lust, as well as Indie Porn Pioneer 2009.

Good for Her is thrilled to present the 5th Annual Feminist Porn Awards.The Feminist Porn Awards honor pornographers whose groundbreaking work offers a fresh perspective on the sexual expression of women and everyone who finds themselves under-represented in mainstream pornography.
The official nomination period for consideration for the Good For Her Feminist Porn Awards opens on October 5, 2009 and will close on January 31, 2010.
In order to be considered for a Feminist Porn Award, submissions must meet at least 1 of the following criteria:
1)A woman had a hand in the production, writing, direction etc. of the work.
2)The work depicts genuine female pleasure
3)The work expands the boundaries of sexual representation on film, challenges stereotypes and presents a vision that sets the content apart from most mainstream pornography
Categories for awards may include, but are not limited to: Canadian Content, Diverse Cast/Representation, Emerging Filmmaker, Independent, International, Kink/Fetish, Lesbian/Dyke, Short Film, Straight, Trans, and Web-Based.

Wednesday, September 23, Gladstone Hotel Melody Bar (1214 Queen Street West). 7:30 to 10:30pm.
Petra Joy has made some pretty great lady-centric erotic films in her day (including Female Fantasies and Feeling It! just for starters…) and she’s now passing on some of her know-how to other female filmmakers by way of the newly established Joy Award. This award is given out through a short film competition with the theme “what is erotic to you?” First prize is a decidedly sweet 800€, and is open to first-time female filmmakers in any format from animation, documentary, to erotic vignette. The winners will be shown at the Berlin Pornfilmfest in October, and the competition closes on September 30th 2009, so hop to it. Also, the Joy Awards are sponsored by the awesome Pjur, so you know they’ve got class (and long lasting lubricity).
I am still reeling from an incredible and inspiring weekend! It all started off at the Berkeley Church on Friday, and what a venue! It was so swank, and everybody I talked to loved it! We had some special guests in the house including Jiz Lee, Syd Blakovich, Madison Young, Courtney Trouble, Tobi Hill-Myer, Mimi Balfour, Joanne Loton (who filmed the awards for an upcoming documentary!), Ken Rowe, not to mention some superstar presenters including Jess Dobkin, Bobby Noble, Jessica Yee,J. D. Bauchery, Sasha Van Bon Bon and many more. Boylesque did an AMAZING job as our trophy boys, and Raging Asian Women started us off with some incredibly powerful taiko drumming that was so mesmerizing and brought tears to my eyes! CoCo La Creme did a beautiful tribute to Josephine Baker, and was gorgeous as always. And Daddy K and the Rhythm Method did a stellar job with their gigantic dance performance - 12 people on stage treating us to their interpretations of a lesbian pajama party, Mormons gone deliciously perverted and some sweet slick moves that raised the bar on their already awesome repertoire!
