Good For Her is Toronto’s cozy, comfortable place where people of all genders, sexes, orientations and desires can find a variety of high quality sex toys, books, DVDs, workshops, great advice and much more.
The Good For Her Philosophy
We all need access to information and products that are not always easy to find or easy to talk about. Both online and within our store in Toronto, we try to make it easy for you to learn and engage with our knowledgeable staff or explore on your own.
We believe that there is nothing shameful about an open, honest dialogue about sex and sexuality. Everyone deserves to explore their own sexuality in a safe and comfortable environment, and we hope that Good For Her can help facilitate that in your own life.
If you have questions, please feel free to talk directly to a staff person, or use our handy contact us form. Remember, there are few questions we have not heard yet! Also be sure to check out our toy guide, where you’ll learn many helpful tips about the wonderful world of sex toys.
About our store
Founder Carlyle Jansen got her start when she gave an impromptu sex toys seminar at her sister’s bridal shower—a United Church Minister—in 1995. Carlyle had just recently learned how to orgasm and her sister’s friends were so thrilled with Carlyle’s ease in sharing her knowledge that they requested more workshops.
Over time doing workshops at the YMCA, women said that they wanted a comfortable place where they could purchase the toys Carlyle was speaking about, and they wanted more workshops. Thus Good For Her was born.
We’ve been around since 1997, and Good For Her still strives to carry the highest quality products that celebrate everyone’s sexuality. This means excellent materials that won’t harm your body, and an approach to sex that gives you the ability to make the best decisions possible for yourself. We buy locally when possible, and encourage environmentally responsible products and packaging from our suppliers. We also support our community.
Women and Trans only Hours
We know that it takes a lot of courage for many women and trans people to simply walk into our store door, so we do our best to make our space feel welcoming and positive. For this reason, Good For Her offers women and trans only hours for those who feel more comfortable in an environment that is created especially with them in mind. We encourage women and trans people of all genders to make use of this time if they find more comfortable.
Women and Trans Only Hours:
(After 2pm the store is open to all customers)
Regular store hours:
Monday to Thursday 11-7 (closed all statutory holidays)
Sunday 12-2 (women and trans* people only)
Sunday 2-5 (all customers)

Good For Whom?
We hope to meet the needs of a variety of people, regardless of gender, sex, sexual orientation, age or partner status (i.e. single, celibate, in love, committed, married, monogamous, polyamorous, looking, all of the above…). We are committed to creating a safe space for everyone to learn about the sensitive topic of sexuality and to buy products that meet their sexual needs and/or desires.
We recognize the fluidity of gender, and respect the gender with which people identify themselves.
Men are definitely welcome to shop with us, and are encouraged to come to our store (except during our women and trans-only hours). We think that whatever is Good For Her is likely to be good for everyone! Don’t forget to check out our ever-expanding selection of toys for penises and prostates as well.
