At Good For Her we understand that the purchase of one of our silicone products can be a considerable investment. To ensure that you get the most out of your new purchase, we highly recommend that you care and maintain it in the following manner:
Cleaning:
- Clean it with soap and water, it may be submerged in water. If you want to use a sex toy cleaner we recommend Pjur Medclean since it does not contain Nonoxynol-9, an ingredient many people find irritating to sensitive tissues.
Sterilizing:
- Wash with soap and water
- Submerge in the boiling water for 3-4 minutes
- Remove with tongs
- Allow to cool and dry
Storage:
- Store your item in fabric or a plastic bag after it has dried. Dust does adhere to silicone
- Do not allow anything sharp to come into contact with it (eg. Cat claws, staples on the package) as it can tear
To Share or Not to Share:
- If you’re using the toy with someone else, we recommend using a condom on the toy unless you also share sexual fluids with that person. You can also boil this silicone toy to sterilize it between uses.
Lube:
A water-based lube works best. Lubricant is recommended for vaginal play and is strongly recommended for anal penetration. - Some manufacturers recommend that you do not use a silicone-based lube (eg. Eros, wet platinum) with silicone products as it may slightly discolour or remove the sheen on the item. This discolouration depends on the type of silicone used in the item and the make of silicone lubricant. In our experience, most high quality silicone lubricant and find with high quality silicone toys, if in doubt, use a water-based toy. We have not noticed any damage to most silicone products by silicone lubricants. You could consider a spot test on the base to determine the effect on your new purchase.
- Do not use with oil/petroleum based lubricants. These products will damage the item, can trap bacteria and cause an infection.
