About our store Founder Carlyle Jansen got her start when she gave an impromptu sex toys seminar at her sister’s bridal shower—a United Church Minister—in 1995. Carlyle had just recently learned how to orgasm and her sister's friends were so thrilled with Carlyle’s ease in sharing her knowledge that they requested more workshops. Over time doing workshops at the YMCA, women said that they wanted a comfortable place where they could purchase the toys Carlyle was speaking about, and they wanted more workshops. Thus Good For Her was born.
We've been around for 11 years now, and Good For Her still strives to carry the highest quality products that celebrate women's sexuality. This means excellent materials that won’t harm your body, and an approach to sex that gives you the ability to make the best decisions possible for yourself. We buy locally when possible, and encourage environmentally responsible products and packaging from our suppliers. Don’t forget to check out our awesome reusable tote bags too!

Women and Trans only Hours
We know that it takes a lot of courage for many women and trans people to simply walk into our store door, so we do our best to make our space feel welcoming and positive. For this reason, Good For Her offers women and trans only hours for those who feel more comfortable in an environment that is created especially with them in mind. We encourage women and trans people of all genders to make use of this time.

We hope to meet the needs of a variety of women, regardless of sexual orientation or age or partner status (i.e. single, celibate, in love, We recognize the fluidity of gender, and respect the gender with which people identify themselves. Men are definitely welcome to shop with us, and are encouraged to come to our store (except during our women and trans-only hours). We think that whatever is Good For Her is likely to be good for him, too! Don’t forget to check out our ever-expanding selection of toys for men, as well.
